Thailand Elite Members Can Now Work in Thailand with the Flexible Plus Program

Thailand Elite Flexible Plus Program

Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. has recently introduced Flexible Plus, specially designed for Thailand Elite members who are interested in obtaining a work permit by investing in the Kingdom of Thailand, in addition to the standard benefits that are provided through the Elite program.

The successful Flexible Plus member would also be granted the opportunity to request a Non-Immigrant visa with a maximum validity of five years for up to three of their dependents (legal spouses and children under 20 years of age).

Requirements

To qualify for the Flexible Plus Program, an applicant must:

  • Be registered as an Elite Ultimate Privilege (EUP), Elite Superiority Extension (ESE), or Elite Privilege Access (EPA) member. If the applicant is not a Thailand Elite member yet, they will be required to first submit their application for one of the above-mentioned program options.
  • Invest in Thailand within a period of one year from the date of submitting their letter of intent to the Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (for existing members), or from the date of membership activation (for new members)
  • Invest no less than USD 1 million in one or more of the following three types of investment:
    • Properties: according to Thailand’s laws for foreign nationals
    • Foreign direct investment: company limited or public company limited enterprises
    • Portfolio investment: Thailand stock exchange
  • Qualify under the Working of Alien Act, B.E. 2551 (2008) regulations

The proof of funds and proof of investment will also be required before the member’s Elite visa would be converted to a Non-Immigrant (B) visa. Detailed information on the documentation that would need to be provided can be found here.

Privileges include

The Flexible Plus member and their dependents would be entitled to similar benefits (with shared quotas) according to the type of membership held by the core member.

Conditions include

To maintain the work permit, the Flexible Plus member must:

  • Report and present proof of their investment every year for five consecutive years from the initial date of investment
  • Not cancel or reduce the amount of investment before five years

If these conditions are not maintained, the Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. will notify the Department of Employment’s Ministry of Labor to revoke the work permit. If it is revoked, the member may retain their Thailand Privilege Card membership and continue to enjoy the privileges provided through their membership type (EUP, ESE, or EPA), without the ability to work in the kingdom.
